The Rapids have partnered with Real Maryland FC of the USL Division II soccer league. Already partnered with Arsenal of the English Premier League and Club de Futbol Pachuca of Mexican’s Premier Division, this sets up a cooperation with one of our home grown leagues.
In leagues like the EPL there is a contiguous development of talent between the various divisions, similar to baseball here in the US. College soccer Read more…

Rapids fans must bid farewell to one of the most enigmatic players on our Squad, Bouna Coundoul. The Sengalese player was known for his near asceticism, devout faith, and ridiculous starting salary of $30,000. More importantly to the Rapids, his aggressive style of goal keeping took your breath away (and usually the ball as well). Read more…

The Rapids selected 3 forwards, 2 defenders, and a goalkeeper in the 2009 Superdraft. I have written previously about Colorado’s lack of a quality finisher, hopefully one of these 3 forwards can develop into that role.
The first round contained a whole lot of Terrapins, but the Rapids were on the sidelines having traded their first round pick to obtain Christian Gomez Read more…

Following up on a previous article about Rapid’s defender Cory Gibbs, he has withdrawn from camp and is being replaced by Ugo Ihemelu. Hopefully this bodes well for our defense this season, to have two defenders on Team USA.
Ihemelu has one cap versus Norway, and clearly has better hair than Gibbs. Nonetheless Gibbs’ withdrawal is puzzling.
